In September 1989, he began his specialty training in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He obtained a Certificate in Periodontics in 1991 with additional training in Oral Implantology. Following completion of this training program, he achieved Fellowship to the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in his specialty. This designation is on par with board certification in the USA. His interest in the field of Dental Implantology led him to pursue additional training at the University of Toronto, Northwestern University in Chicago and at the birthplace of dental implants in Gotenborg, Sweden. He has been involved with Dental Implantology since the early days of development in North America and has successfully placed over 7,000 implants for patients with varied clinical needs ranging from single teeth replacements to full mouth rehabilitation.
In 1991, he received a faculty appointment at the University of Western Ontario in the Division of Periodontics as a part-time Clinical Instructor and Lecturer for junior and senior undergraduate dental students. Through this appointment, he developed teaching experience at all levels including dental assistants, dental hygienists, dental technicians, general dentists and specialists. At the same time, he mentored two continuing education study clubs for hygienists, dentists and dental specialists. He has presented many seminars over the years to the profession on topics in Periodontics and Dental Implantology. He has been an active learner as well, attending numerous national and international conferences, meetings and symposiums as he strives to stay on the leading edge in his profession.
Before moving to Arizona in 1998, Dr. Indech had a successful practice in Toronto. Since 1998, he has been in full-time practice in Phoenix and Scottsdale providing treatment to a diverse population from young to old patients with a broad scope of periodontal and dental conditions. Specifically, his interest and experience is in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases, preprosthetic periodontal and oral surgery, mucogingival and cosmetic periodontal surgery as well as the management of periodontal concerns associated with endodontic and orthodontic conditions. His goal is to enhance his patient’s overall oral health, appearance, and general well being by providing a wide range of individualized diagnostic, preventative, therapeutic, reconstructive and cosmetic periodontal, surgical and dental implant services. He provides site development procedures including extraction socket preservation, ridge augmentation, sinus lifts and soft tissue enhancements. Leaning strongly towards the ITI – Straumann implant system, he is also comfortable with placing Nobel Biocare implants.
Dr. Indech is committed to exceptional communication with patients and colleagues so that he can successfully achieve his treatment objectives. He develops good rapport with patients and encourages and educates them to understand their condition and make good decisions regarding treatment so that they can achieve optimal dental health. He works hard to motivate patients, knowing it is only through these efforts that lasting results can be obtained. He integrates and communicates effectively with the general dentist, other dental specialists and physicians to successfully treat patients with complex conditions. He understands and emphasizes the importance of collecting detailed computerized records, preparing computer generated diagnoses and treatment plans and transferring this information to the patient and staff (treatment coordinator) on a level that they can understand, and then later following up the patient’s progress in a convenient, timely manner. Most importantly, he is committed to patient satisfaction and comfort by respecting their individual needs and treating them in a warm, compassionate and professional manner.
