There are several tips that you can use to protect your teeth.

1. Brush Properly

The first tip that is going to help you to protect your teeth is to make sure that you brush your teeth at least twice a day. This is something that you are going to need to do after you have had a meal. It is going to be better for your teeth if you use a toothbrush that has a small head. This is because it will allow you to get better access to the back of your mouth. Plus, the softer bristles are going to be nicer on your gums.

2. Use Fluoride

The second tip to protect your teeth is to use a toothpaste that has fluoride in it. This is because it can help to harden the enamel of your teeth. Therefore, it is going to reduce the amount of tooth decay that you are going to have.

3. Take Your Time

The third tip that helps to protect your teeth is to take some time to brush your teeth. This is the best way to make sure that you are brushing them thoroughly. This means that you are going to need to take at least two or three minutes to brush your teeth. But you also want to make sure that you are not brushing your teeth for too long because it is just going to damage your teeth.

4. Floss Regularly

The fourth tip to protect your teeth is to floss your teeth on a regular basis. This is something that a lot of dentists are going to recommend to their patients. It is very important that when you are flossing your teeth that you doing it very slowly and using a gentle sawing motion.

5. Limit Acidic Drinks

The fifth tip to help to protect your teeth is to make sure that you limit that limit the amount of drinks that you have with acid in them. This is going to include soft drinks and fruit juices. This is because these acids are going to soften the materials in your teeth and dissolves the minerals inside of the enamel in your teeth. This is something that is going to cause holes in your teeth. These holes are going to be better known as cavities to your dentist. If you have a severe case of a cavity, then the tooth is going to be worn down to the gums.

6. Avoid Foods With Sugar

The sixth tip to help to make sure that you protect your teeth is to avoid any foods that have sugar in them as much as you can. This is because the sugar can cause bacteria to be inside of your teeth. Then this sugar is going to turn into the acids that are going to damage your teeth.

7. Wear A Mouthguard

The seventh tip is to protect your teeth from any type of injury. This is going to be especially true if you are playing any type of sport where the chances of you having an injury to your mouth is likely. Therefore, you are going to need to wear a mouth guard or a helmet that is going to cover up your whole face when you are playing in sports.

8. Save Your Tooth

The eighth tip is to try your best to save a tooth that might have gotten knocked out of your mouth. If it is possible, then you should hold the tooth in place until you are able to get some advice from the dentist. If you cannot do this, then you need to wrap up the tooth in some plastic or even place it into some milk. It is very important that you go to the dentist immediately.

9. Stop Using Your Teeth

The ninth tip is to make sure that you are not doing anything special with your teeth. This means that you only need to use their teeth to chew up your food. Stay away from using your teeth to remove bottle tops, rip into packaging, or cracking nuts. You are just putting your teeth at risk for chipping or even breaking if they are already fragile.

10. Visit The Dentist

The tenth tip is to make sure that you see the dentist on a regular basis. This means that you need to go to the dentist more than just when you have a dental problem. But if you do have a toothache or your gums are bleeding, then you definitely need to have a visit with your dentist so that they can help you with this problem.
